Default Count count with Winchester White Box?

I buy a lot of 100-round Winchester White Box. Recently I started loading my 100-round boxes into plastic cases because they fix better into my ammo can that I take to the range. Lord knows why I haven't noticed until recently but it seems like the round count is really flaky. In the last 4 100-round boxes I bought, I received 98, 99, 101 and 102 rounds instead of the even 100.

    Anyone else ever encounter this?

At least the law of averages was in your favor. It averages out @ 100 per bx.=)
I shoot a lot of 9mm WB in 10rd magazines ("CLIPS" for the clip police) and they always work out even count. No extra's - No short's. I did see a clerk drop a box one night in Walmart and they splattered all over the floor. I don't know if all 100 made it back into that box or not.

My dog "Ruger" is worried about the economy because Alpo is up to $3.00 a can. That's almost $21.00 in dog money.

That happened to me once, I though I was going crazy but I guess not. I got shorted by a couple rounds, that's why I don't buy that ammo anymore.

Oh good, I'm not crazy... Yes I've been +/- 2 or so rounds in many boxes. Overall I am getting 100 rounds per box when I buy 5 or 6 boxes.

I once got burned by 4 or 5 rounds, but I've also had several with 101, so in the long haul it evens out.

"Clip? did I hear you say clip dick head?....does that look like a M1 Garand rifle to you dick head?....no it is a Government 45caliber pistol, which uses MAGAZINES, thanks to this dick head on station 5 we all get to do a little mashing behind the firing line....since the dick head that did this to all of you is on station 5, we'll all do 5 count push ups....assume the position people, ON THE DECK NOW!!!"

Sorry, I had a flash back to boot camp. Don't recall the instructors name, only that he was a GMG1, will never forget his voice though.....I NEVER called a magazine a clip again!

i'd guess they're sorted by weight, not by actual count.

i wouldn't call myself ridiculously lucky or anything over it, but my last bulk box of Federal .22 had about 565 instead of 550, and it felt about the same weight as the box before it which came out at 550.

(and i admit to counting them all. i get bored sometimes.)
