Re: first time gun owner
The trunk, unloaded.
Take the time to get your LTCF so you can avoid any of the strange firearm transport regulations Pennsylvania has inflicted upon its citizens.
Make sure your firearms is unloaded and in a container. Keep the ammunition in another container and you will be good to go. You must go directly to the range and return home if you do not have an LTCF. If you get pulled over, do not talk about your firearm or anything else you have in your trunk, evin if you are asked you do not have to answer. While I am on the topic, feel free not to answer any question from any police officer in this country, it is your right.Join the groups protecting your rights from the fools trying to take them from you!

Re: first time gun owner
Congrats on the purchase. As mentioned keep them separate. I throw the ammo in the bed, and the gun case behind my truck seat, this way the gun isn't tossed around in the bed. I will be headed over to apply for my LTCF this week.

Re: first time gun owner
Any loaded detachable magazines for the guns that are present need to be in a separate container. Loose or boxed ammo can be anywhere - including in the same compartment as the gun.
The gun itself must be completely unloaded. ...no ammo in the chamber(s) or fixed magazine.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Congrats on the new purchase, I am sure you will love it.
Fire arms are like rabbits and tattoos once you get one, more just keep appearing.

Re: first time gun owner
Doesn't he have to have a ltcf to transport it since we are under state of emergency?
