    Default Will it rust?

I was punching out the roll pin on my trigger guard on my new ar 15 and It looks like I took the black finish of a bit on the edges of the metal. Is this going I be a problem or should I not worry about it.

The lower receiver of the AR 15 is made of aluminum. It does not rust like steel. You have nothing to worry about

get a black touch-up pen if you are concerned about appearance. but as stated above, it will not rust.

If your asking - Will the roll pin rust? - Then yes, Receiver - No.
Stainless pins are available - about $15-20 for a kit that has every pin in it! They will NOT rust, if to bright, black marker. Check out Cold Bore Custom Firearms, a member, in Warriors Mark or on the net.

Are you saying you scratched the trigger guard not the receiver itself? I believe it is also aluminum, someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

And to those of you who think stainless steel cannot rust. Do some research.
