Nov 6th 2012 elections - FOAC Pro Gun voter guide – Time for a choice

FOAC Pro-Gun voter guides – do your part and Vote Nov 6, 2012

"One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors" - Plato

If you are a gun owner and you do not VOTE you are NOT part of the solution. YOU are part of the problem.

Kim Stolfer and Other members of FOAC spend an enormous amount of time doing these voter guides so please use them and make sure your friends and family use them as well. Especially IF you haven’t take the required time to closely check and research the people running for office before election day.

    http://www.foac-pac.org/

Kim Stolfer send outs like 600- 700 questionnaires, plus has to resend about 300 that seem to always get lost or not returned by candidates. Think that number is high do the math 67 counties by how many offices listed (203 PA house 50 PA senate alone), after they get the standard questionnaires returned. The laborious task of grading goes next, after that Kim has to set personal interviews or phone interviews with all favorable PRO-GUN candidates to make sure they really feel this way and someone else didn’t just fill in answers to what they think FOAC wanted to hear just to get an PG endorsement.

Also FOAC uses information supplied by local gun owners and public statements and recorded votes to determine if they are really PRO-GUN or anti-gun looking for endorsement.

FOAC does not just hand out endorsements like some other groups do for some expedited political reasons like giving out unrealistic higher grade to leadership they don’t deserve. FOAC has also been doing these pro-gun voter guides since the early nineties.

People running for public office hate not seeing their name on voter guides.

Note some PRO-GUN people do not get endorsements because they DON’T RETURN QUESTIONAIRES, other people don’t get endorsements because they may own guns for hunting or self defense but they vote ANTI-GUN when in office (example one gun a month, so called assault weapons, LTCF permits etc) unless it effects their hunting guns (lots of REPS in PA are guilty of this) they vote against US, so they do not get an endorsement from FOAC just because they might owns a gun.

So now it’s your turn to reward those that vote FOR protecting your rights and time to help unelect anti-gun politicians that have tried to take your rights away.

So your part and Vote on Nov 6th, its your chance to make a difference, also be sure you make extra copies.

Pass out the FOAC Pro-gun voters guides at your clubs and to friends and family get everyone to vote, its your time to decide the future for all of US.

Once race that could direct affect PA gun owners firearm right more than who is elected to the president office

BE VERY AWARE the next PA attorney general (depends on who gets elected) race outcome can have a major impact on our LTCF Reciprocity agreements and also Especially with anyone living in PA using ONLY non resident out of state permits in PA

The UFA gives the PA attorney general the discretionary authority to determine what “similar” laws means, the door swings both ways power to enter and power to Cancel Reciprocity agreements.

§6106. Firearms not to be carried without a license.
    ~snip~
    (b) Exceptions
    • ~snip~
    (15) Any person who possesses a valid and lawfully issued license or permit to carry a firearm which has been issued under the laws of another state, regardless of whether a reciprocity agreement exists between the Commonwealth and the state under section 6109(k), provided:
    • (i) The state provides a reciprocal privilege for individuals licensed to carry firearms under section 6109.
    • (ii) The Attorney General has determined that the firearm laws of the state are similar to the firearm laws of this Commonwealth.
    ~snip~

While Tom Corbett was attorney general he entered into a record number with other states under his terms (even publicaly spoke out against more gun control) and even the un elected current AG has followed up with more giving us more reciprocity agreements where a PA LTCF permits are now honored.

read that section on the UFA again

The next attorney general has the power to cancel them, with the loophole wording of what the word “similar” means, after all who elected to office is going to stick their necks out and question the AG? Especially made easier if the other state changed the their firearm laws after the agreement.

So if we get a anti-gun leaning PA attorney general holding office, just be aware of the consequences of this one state wide race on your gun rights could have long term effects.

You have been fore warned in advance of the danger with this One state Race outcome. so maybe you better get involved now

Better get all the gun owners you know out to VOTE on Nov 6, 2012

My Zone's guide hasn't been updated in two years... "John Siptroth" is not even in the running any more. Maybe it's time, since the election is just one month away and all, they brought their voter's guides up to speed, if they want them to do us any good...

EDIT: Actually, it must have been updated since 2010 (it says that was the last time), since it reads "Romney/Ryan," yet they did not fix the district 189 state rep endorsement, at the very least.

Does the PA AG have any power when it comes to dealing with Mayors and police forces that continue to disregard/circumvent the State's Preemptive Laws?

I see the same thing in the Chester County guide. It lists Curt Schroder, who resigned back in May (he was already retiring).

Regarding the AG race - how pro-gun IS Dave Freed?

the last update 2010 is some kind of formating thing on the web site and yes its is confusing as that was the site page was created.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Zone 6 has been updated to show Rosemary Brown as endorsed in House District 189 for Pike County . Note that she was shown as endorsed in Monroe County . we had a minor formatting problem with getting Pike County positioned at the top of the 3rd column; this may be the reason for the oversight. we will have the FOAC web site updated ASAP.

The PA attorney general office is a relatively new office, so its powers are not as vast as some other states have. The Counties District Attorney have the legal oversight authority and the attorney general really only can step in when the county DA ask for their help in most cases.

Tom Corbett when he was attorney general for PA. wrote this letter here to all 67 DA’s in PA about the illegality of local preemption of firearm laws.

READ the Tom Corbett preemption letter here

there is a big mis conception about what legal authority people have elected to office, along with taking a chance sticking their head out politically to take a position, especially IF no one in the public is backing them up in large numbers.

Can you give the rationale for the 11th District Senate seat being listed as "No Suitable Candidate?" I understand that Senatorial Candidate Mogel is one of the most pro-2nd Amendment, Article I, Section 21 candidates in PA. http://www.teamkaren2012.com. She's far more pro-gun than Judy Shwank and has earned a rating with the NRA of AQ. I understand that she has no voting record, since she has never held office previously; however, I don't believe that alone should result in the individual being listed as a non-suitable candidate.

Can you shed any light on this? Given that the 11th District covers an extremely pro-gun section of PA (Alsace, Bally, Bechtelsville, Bern, Bernville, Birdsboro, Boyertown, Colebrookdale, Cumru, District, Earl, Exeter, Fleetwood, Greenwich, Hereford, Kenhorst, Kutztown, Laureldale, Leesport, Lenhartsville, Longswamp, Lyons, Maxatawny, Mohnton, Mt. Penn, Muhlenberg, Oley, Penn, Pike, ReadingRichmond, Rockland, Ruscombmanor, Shillington, St. Lawrence, Topton, Union, Washington, West Reading), I would really like to understand that determination.

    Joshua,

Likely she didn't return a questionnaire. Lots of reps seem to ignore FOAC's questionnaires away from the west end of the state.

Can someone get me the questionnaire? I just spoke with her and she said she would be more than happy to answer the questionnaire.
