question about sbr conversion kit

i've looked at few conversion kit for my glock and they looked really nice. only problem is that i heard most county sheriffs won't write off on them. what's the deal with delaware county? anyone familiar with it?

You say "SBR" in the thread title, which I assume you mean "Short Barreled Rifle", and then you mention "Glock" in the post, which is a pistol. Do you want to make/convert a rifle to an SBR or do you just want to convert your Glock to shoot .22lr?

The sheriff doesn't care about converting your Glock to .22lr. I think you might be confused by the "rifle" in the Long Rifle designation of the .22 ammo. Just because it says that doesn't make a firearm that shoots it a rifle.

You can also add a shoulder stock to a Glock with other accesories and it makes it an SBR. But yes the OP definately needs a bit more clarification.

There is another kit out there that does not add a stock to your Glock but gives you all the benefits you may be looking for. It uses a single point sling attachment in the back. Then you have Mec-Tech uppers that turns your Glock into a Carbine also. No stamp needed there either.

ducatiron, thanks for your input. i'm still new with firearms and thought those conversion kits would be neat to have so i can take it to range. almost bought one without knowing that it requires local sheriffs stamp. guys at the gunshop (classic pistol) told me that it would be near impossible to get that stamp if i were in phila/montgo county but delaware county was possible. if theres lot of loops i have go to through, its not must have but am really interested in one if i'm allowed

I see them as a toy with no real practical purpose, for the average person. If you want an SBR, get one in an actual rifle caliber.

But pistol caliber carbines do make fun toys.

i am in no need for a rifle atm, not to mention they cost TON of money to shoot. i understand that conversion kit might not be for everyone but would like to know if its easy enough to own one.

IMO It costs too much for what it is, $400+ for the system and the $200 tax stamp. I'd just buy a carbine that takes glock mags. they also sell that "system" without the stock so its not a sbr but you get the look

If the "system" didn't have the stock but had the VFG wouldn't that make it an AOW and still require a tax stamp?
