    Question Refinishing

Hello to all! I just recently purchased a 1911 that is finished in an OD green finish from factory, the firearm is used (purchased for a great price) and has some imperfections and scratches from light use... I would like to refinish the pistol in a two tone pattern with a black slide and silver or raw frame. Does anyone have any suggestion on how to refinish it as I've never refinished a firearm this extensively. Thank you in advance to all with comments or suggestions!

Take a look at my website click on the link in my signature . You can maybe get some ideas on colors and two tones. Then if you want to try and do it yourself call me at 610-252-5334 and I will walk you thru what equipment and supplies you would need to try and do one at home. This would be a really long post and I hate to type cause I suck at that so give a call sometime and i would be happy to talk to you about it. Brian / EFR

Cerokote finish is the way to go, I have had it done on several rifles and it is fantastic. The 9.3x62 Mauser that I took to Africa in Sept had that finish and it withstood crawling around on the ground etc, with no visable wear. I highly reccomend it!!!!!!
