First time turkey hunter
Hey all, first time poster and turkey hunter here... I'm looking for advice on where to go for turkey. I am from Philadelphia but we have a place near Lake Harmony in the Poconos and I am familiar with the area. If anyone has any knowledge of the turkey population in that vicinity, it would be appreciated. I know my chances of bagging one this year are not great, but I'd still love to try and get some fresh non-city air.
Also, if anyone has any tips for someone who's never done it before, I'd appreciate that too. Aside from the typical safety lecture, which I can assure you is already my # 1 priority. One can only watch so many youtube videos before starting to see contradictory "tips." Thanks.

Plenty of turkeys up here in the poconos. I've gotten one each season for the past two years just in my backyard. They are also abundant on SGLs in all of Monroe county. Get a slate call or a glass call or learn a mouth call, shotgun that patterns well some camo and find a spot to sit still and hide.
Guns don't kill people, it's mostly the bullets.

Thanks for the replies all. I am familiar with the Tobyhanna range in Monroe county, I may end up going to SGL 127. I plan on going up Thanksgiving weekend since this is the earliest I can get up there with work being crazy right now.
