    Question Carry at Polling Places?

Just curious what the laws are for carry at a polling place in PA?

On a different note, are you required to show ID just to vote?

    Thanks.

Unless you vote at a school carrying is legal as far as I know.

No, they will ask, but you are not required to show ID

yo don't have to show id to vote, this time. as to carry, anyone can carry oc or cc, except a police officer who cannot carry in uniform at a polling place by commonwealth law.

    OK, thanks for the replies!

My polling place is a township office where police park their cars and have their office (I think). Hopefully they know the laws, too....

    Citation please?

Police may not be "stationed" at the polls. The most certainly can carry, either in uniform or out, on duty or off, openly or concealed, so long as they are either casting their vote, or responding to a call in their official capacity.

Well, I had to show ID to vote. On the voter list it said "ID REQUIRED" for me. I guess that's because I recently moved to PA.

Sorry about that, I did not take into account that you were a first time voter there. Was just thinking about the recent voter id flap.

No apologies necessary. I figured it was because I'm new to PA. No biggie.

That's exactly why. I moved WITHIN Pa this past December and mine said the same thing.
