Default Ammo for a Glock 19 Gen 4?

I recently purchased a Glock 19 Gen 4 and I'm wondering if it can handle +P and/or +P+ ammo. I'm assuming it can, but I've been unable to find a definitive answer either in my owners manual or Glock's website. Anybody know for sure?

It can... both +p and +p+. I use +p in my gen4 for my carry ammo. Give the forum search function a spin, there are many informative threads on +p and +p+ where glocks are mentioned.

Another for Speer Gold Dot 124gr +P. Great ammo. Get this stuff, dont think twice. They also have 115gr +p+

    Yup. 124gr +P gold dots.

As for general target, I don't have a gen 4 19, rather a gen 4 17. And it will cycle anything. Even Russian shitty ammo.

    It will shoot anything.

My G26 likes the Golden Sabre's too. Not as 'cool' of a SD round as some of the newer stuff. But it always shot extremely well with the 124gr and 147gr GS's. The non-bonded ones basically turn inside out and come apart pretty bad though. Maybe better used in a situation where over penetration is a really bad thing.

Yup. I run Speer Gold Dots 115 gr. +P+ out of my Gen 3 Glock 19.

I have the same ammo loaded in my Sig P228, but I didn't like how my 228 shot with it. I didn't shoot the 228 as accurate as my G19 (with carry ammo) or as I did with ball ammo thru the gun. Maybe I'll try the 124 gr. +P out of it.

My G19(4) seems to like the heavier 124/147 loads a bit better than the light 115 loads. Here are some loads I have shot:

    Federal 9BPLE 115 +P+
    Speer Gold Dot 124 +P
    Winchester Ranger 127 +P+
    Corbon DPX +P
    Hornady Critical Defense 115 +P

    And my new carry load:

Underwood (Speer Gold Dot) 147 +p+

Do you say this because of cycling issues or that the heavier loads are more accurate?
