Re: How are you prepping for Sandy?
I got my 72-hour bags ready (myself, wife and 2 kids). Got all my spare mags loaded. Plenty of water, canned food, batteries, full tank of gas, blankets, warm clothes.

Re: How are you prepping for Sandy?
I didn't at all. I live on high ground and don't have to worry much about flooding, and my power goes out up here 3 or 4 times a year so I'm used to that. I worry more about it in the winter when my heat won't work if the power goes down, but it isn't that time of year yet.
Last week the groceries were bought, and I always have a flashlight and pistol handy on the nightstand, have a couple MREs in the cupboard, and several hundred rounds for each weapon. I feel I don't need to do any special prepping. It just sucks that when the power goes down for more than 24 hours I have to throw away about a hundred dollars worth of food.
And I never understood why so many seem to run out for eggs, bread, and milk. Are they planning on having the neighbors over for french toast?Last edited by Keith A; October 29th, 2012 at 03:10 AM. Reason: addition

Heck... I still had most of my stuff from last year's hurricane Irene. Just bought a couple cases of water and that was about it. Oh, I did extend my gutter downspouts out further from the house this year.
It's raining pretty hard here right now.Μολὼν λάβε

I got food, booze, tp, ammo, propane, flashlights and candles - and at least one day off from work.

I have noticed that not one person has remembered bacon. How could you all forget bacon.
