    Default Carrying to doctors appointment?

Had to take my wife to a dr's appointment today. Was CC as usual (saw no prohibative signs), but it got me wondering...

I haven't gone to the doc myself in ages (though I really should get a check-up). But if you had an appointment for something like a basic physical, where you were required to undress to some degree, would you still carry into the office? Or would you leave it at home, in the car, etc... If you OC, have you worn it to an appointment? And if you've CC or OC'ed to the doctors office, was anything said?

I assume most hospitals have a no gun policy (correct me if I'm wrong), but I've never seen a sign posted in a private dr's office, but never looked until today.

Why would you need to carry to the doctor? Are you worried he's going to stick a finger up your ass or fondle your balls? I'm afraid that's going to happen regardless. lol

Seriously though, I would leave it in the car in this instance, locked in a secure box bolted down. Just my opinion.

In case a disgruntled employee or patient decides to shoot up the place? Can happen any time, anywhere.

I have carried to my doctors office all the time and they all know it... and not a problem... and even went to two specialists and they also know and understand... one ( a woman ) even asked about it and gave her some info on LTCF ... she said she will check it out... not sure if she will but she has the info...

You may want to let them know you are carrying and see what kind of response you get... at least you will know for next time...

Yep, because criminals do not go to the doctor's office.

I usually don't cc my LCR to dr's but did on a follow up to review blood work a few weeks ago,to my surprise she took my bp and listened to my heart which required her to go under my shirt in the back but she was on my weak side and didn't notice it in my IWB holster. I'm not embarrassed I just don't tell many people that I carry who are not close friends because quite frankly it's my business.

I've never had a medical professional ask if there were guns in my home even this doc whom I am new to seeing and she asked me some questions about my life and how I handle stress on my first visit. She integrates alternative with traditional which is why I started going to her.

I did have a nurse at the local hospital ask me if I had a safe environment at home while she was prepping me for an outpatient procedure, that was this past monday. I answered yes but I thought it was odd enough that I mentioned it to my wife. If she had asked me about guns I would have probably declined to answer and started asking her questions

I carry to both doctors and hospital appointments (out patient).

At doctors visits the first question she will ask is what new guns have you bought and what are you carrying today?
