    Smile New Pistol

I am picking up a brandy new, shinny Kimber Stainless Steel Pro Raptor II by the end of November. I have heard people having issues with Kimber's brand of 1911's I own the Kimber Ultra Carry II and put over 600 rounds through it with only one FTF. After that, everything ran like a new harley on a summer day. Just wanted to get your thoughts on Kimbers line of 1911's. Thanks!

I have had a total of 5. Due to divorce I am down to 2. CDP Custom, CDP Ultra, Tactical Pro, TLE II, Eclipse II. I had a couple FTE's with the Eclipse, but they worked themselvses out. The rest were/are flawless. Of all the "flash and glam", the TLE II is my fav. I did add hogue finger groove grips to the TLE and made it perfect for me.

I had a pretty bad experience with a TLE RL II. In Kimbers defense, they did try to make it right. The damn thing shot everywhere, so I pretty much gave it away and bought a Springfield. I will say this, the fit and finish was excellent. I have fired a few other models of Kimbers and they were great firearms. Guess I just got a lemon.

I owned a Kimber Pro Carry II in stainless and love the gun. Never had a single problem with it.

+1 you'll get more for your money. Or even a Sig. I've own Kimbers. A Tatical Custom II and a CDP. They were great but I felt my money went more towards asthetic of the gun and the name. But if that's your thing the Raptor is a purty 1911.
