whats the deal about carrying in Walmart?
I did it twice this weekend with no questions. I saw no signs posting that it was not allowed. I was at the west manchester wally-world with my daughter and had zero issues. Anybody else have issue with walmart. I only ask after reading several threads about it, so I tried it with success.

I'm assuming you're talking about open carry? I believe Wal Mart's official corporate stance is that guns are not allowed in the store, and if an employee sees one, he or she may ask you to leave the property, but obviously it's not illegal, just against their rules. I guess different stores in different areas enforce it more than others.

When I carry in walmart I know that the greeters are most likely ex-swat. I prepare myself accordingly.
I generally carry throwing knives, a katana and a deagle in a drop leg holster.
I always have an ensemble of black, kneepads are optional as is the paintball mask.
Those bastards will learn in time to NEVER ask for my receipt.

There is conflicting info regarding the corp policy.
The most recent policy (based on letters posted on OCDO) seems to be that Corp has said they are fine with the state law for the store but they allow each store (or region?) to implement their own gun policy or not.

Re: whats the deal about carrying in Walmart?
I've open carried at the Wal-Mart in East Stroudsburg with no issues. Was standing the counter buying ammo one time when the manager saw me, saw my gun, sort half-shrugged and walked away.
I think bearing has a lot to do with it, at least as much as the local management. I walk, act and look like I am a normal guy with no malice in my heart and am generally left to my business. I also don't look like I am hyper-alert and gaging threat levels as I walk the aisles, so that may work in my favor as well.

Re: whats the deal about carrying in Walmart?
I was at a local Mall (Harrisburg East) and they have a large sign on each door as you enter stating a long list of things that are not allowed, weapons being about #15 on the list. I am wondering how much of this comes from liability insurance requirements? I am certain that most large stores/malls have to maintain a large amount of this insurance so when(not if) they get sued they have some protection. Anyone in the retail business who has first hand experience with this? I am guessing, at least as in regards to firearms, that is they get sued they can at least bring up at trail that they "prohibit" firearms on their premises so they are not liable for anything that a customer may do.
