This Sunday, October 21, the DCF&S hi-power range will hold our first of three "Rimfire Action Matches" this year.

Course of fire is:

  • 20 shots standing from a semi-automatic handgun at five steel plates placed at about 25 feet,
  • 20 shots offhand from a semi-automatic rifle at five steel plates placed at 50 yards and
  • 8 shots offhand from a rifle at bowling pins hung at 100 yards.

The semi-auto handgun and rifle stages are timed. Each miss or procedural error adds 5 seconds to the shooter's score. Each bowling pin hit takes five seconds off. Shooter with the lowest overall time wins.

You will need:

  • Semi-auto handgun with open or red-dot sights (no magnification greater than 1X) and four magazines (5 rounds per mag)
  • Semi-auto rimfire rifle with open or red-dot sights (no magnification greater than 1X) and four magazines (5 rounds per mag)
  • Any type rimfire rifle with scope of any magnification, open or red-dot sights
  • 40 rounds of standard velocity .22 rimfire Short, Long or Long Rifle ammunition (for pistol and semi-auto rifle stages)
  • 8 rounds of standard or high-velocity .22 rimfire ammunition for bowling pins
  • $8.00 match fee

If you don't have a required firearm, someone will be glad to lend you theirs for the match.

The match runs from 9:00AM through Noon

This event is open to the public. You do not have to be a DCF&S member to participate.

Additional matches will be held on November 18 and December 19.
