Yeah, and the 7.62x54R round is no joke. Not an anemic round - so these things were built to last. Not disparaging any other rounds, I would say that .303, .30-06 and 8mm Mauser are all good performers but there are some weaker ones out there.

Mosin bolt strong, like bull!! Be sure to clean all cosmoline out of the chamber. Automotive brake cleaner is great for this. If you shoot lacquer coated steel cased ammo, be sure to clean chamber extra well. Lacquer or Cosmo can gum up the action, making bolt difficult to open. Also, shoot with the bayonet attached, or extended. Not only will you get funny looks at the range, but that's how they're made to shoot. Bayo affects barrel harmonics.
