FFL FEES
just wondering...
after getting, uh...shall we say..."unfavorable" responses to a thread for a few rifles for sale....
this raised a question to me....
how much do you pay to have a firearm shipped or received from a ffl?
my ffl's charge either 50 or 75.
what is yours charging?

Re: FFL FEES
I would say $20ish is most common. 50-75 is steep.

Re: FFL FEES
My gun enabler charges me $5.00. I have spent a good deal of $$$$ with him over the space of 40 years and he looks at these transfers as good business.

I have used GunRunners of PA (www.gunrunnersofpa.com) for the last 6 years and (insert number here) guns. $20 per transfer and every 6th one is free.

Re: FFL FEES
Well it depends on if it's a rifle or a pistol and whether its interstate or intrastate. Having a FFL ship a pistol for you to another FFL should run you $25-$35 including the shipping, insurance, and FFL's fee for doing so. You can ship a rifle yourself if it's intrastate for the cost of your method of shipping & insurance.

Re: FFL FEES
My local FFLs charge $20 for any FFL transfer work, a little more if he has to package the firearm for shipping and actual shipping costs.

Re: FFL FEES
The one within a couple minutes of my house has a sign: "No out of state transfers"
I guess he doesn't want to make 35 bucks for 10 minutes work.

Re: FFL FEES
$18 to $25 to receive and transfer a gun at the four gun shops close to me. I've never paid anything beyond a reasonable shipping fee to have a gun sent to a local store.
I've never shipped one, so I don't know what the charge would be for that.Last edited by farmplinker; March 11th, 2008 at 03:38 PM.
