The last Hamburg show I attended was last summer. It's a decent/mid size show but I can't imagine coming all the way from Erie. It's 6 hours each way. For me that's $150 in gas, another $100 for a hotel, and meals/misc other expenses.

A few comments on the above ...

While we like to encourage support of all gun shows, I might not recommend coming from Erie to the Hamburg show. Hamburg is probably 4 1/2 hours from Erie, west of the Allentown, north of Reading, near intersection of Routes 78 and 61. I'm not sure any show is enough to justify that kind of drive?

The assortment of weapons will vary from show to show, as will the number of vendors. There are likely to be C&R weapons there, but there is no guarantee of anything specific. Most of the vendors have a random assortment of weapons obtained from customers, auctions, and/or estates. This usually includes sporting, military, tactical, target, and antique weapons.

BRING CASH to any gun show. Many vendors do not accept credit cards, and you can negotiate better deals if you show some "green."

Please support gun shows, no matter what size, when you can. Smaller shows can turn into larger shows if they're given support. Vendors bring people, and more people bring more vendors. This show is advertised in the NRA magazines, and usually in various classified ad magazines (e.g. Penny Pincher) and local papers. If you can support it as a vendor or a customer, please do so. The Field House is fairly large, so there are probably tables available - contact (570) 640-0144.

I was there about 5 years ago and had the same experience. There were less than a dozen tables.

I attended last fall around this time. Actually the first gun show I had ever gone to. Was able to trade my XL7 in 25-06 for a nice 30AS. Lots of accessories and parts for older weapons. May go by...need a gas tube for my Yugo SKS. If you are close, I think it is worth stopping in. There were certainly more than a dozen tables last year.
