I have two ALS's. One for my glocks and one for a 1911 in .45. I love em. They are level II retention. Also, there is an additional safety measure that can be added to the release mechanism. The same type of button that releases the firearm is also placed over or ontop of the button and this one is pushed rearward. It's really a nifty system. Push the top button back, slide down your thumb and push the second or bottom button forward, ergo releasing the firearm. I've add the second button to both of my ALS's.
OP, I used the safariland 070 for duty carry during my cop days and still use an 0701 for my glock 27. I fully support any safariland product!

These are very good holsters they carry very well .
I don't have a full size m&p but . I've carried with this holster .
It's solid and it will rip off your belt or pants before it lets go of its death grip lol.
