It's a laminated card. Not as thick as a D L but nicely done. They take the picture there and it is part of the card.

I'm going to charge you 10 dollars everytime you want to make a post.
What do you say to that?

Well... Do the same thing to your Sheriff. Laugh at how ridiculous and illegal the request is and say no. Also remind him that it is an illegal demand.

    This isn't hard guys

    18 Pa.C.S. § 6109(d) Sheriff to conduct investigation.
MONTCO calls it part of their investigation, I'm guessing that's how they continue to do this and be within the law. They no longer force you to do it yourself, but tell you it will take the full 45 days if you don't. Let them do the card themselves, no extra charges.

The Local Police Check card is part of our investigation. We suggest that you fill this out and have it completed by your local police department to save time (they will either call you to pick it up or mail it to us.) Alternatively, you may drop it off to our office with your application; however, you may have to wait up to 45 days before you can return for your permit. Note: this applies to new applicants only. The Local Police check card is only valid for 60 days from date of signature by Police Department.
