    Default revolver for cc

Is there a revolver in .357 that is easily and comfortably concealed?

    Absolutely:

    I pocket carry a 12 oz 357 S&W model 340

    Other options:
    Ruger sp101
    Ruger LCR
    S&W 2" model 19
    S&W 2" model 66
    S&W model 60

I found both triggers to be terrible to me so the triggers are on a scale to me.. The Glock was a crisper suck and the XD was a more mushy suck. They are in the same family, SR9 (heavy suck), Glock (crisp heavy suck), XD( lighter mushy suck), M&P(heavy mushy suck).

    Ruger SP101.

Yeah, there are lighter guns from S&W and others, but a lot of people buy them, try shooting .357s once, and stick to .38s after that.

What is the best method of cc with the 340 or sp 101?

I have an sp101 and I would try using a hybrid type. its pretty thick and the leather backing will disperse that.

Ruger SP101 .357 mag. with bobbed hammer, here. Carried in a galco S&W J-frame OWB holster. Just have a t-shirt over it most of the time and it barely prints at all.

I think .357 magnum is a bit much for self defense against humans. I figure the cons outweigh the pros.
Extreme recoil, especially in a gun that isn't all steel
    Muzzle flash is ridiculous
    Overpenetration is a real concern
    It's pricey to shoot

However it is a nice capability to have.

In my experience shooting .357 out of anything lighter than an SP101 is not much fun at all. I love the scandium Smiths, but they beat you up. I find .38spc +p out of an aluminum frame Airweight is just about perfect for me, but .357 out of an SP101 isn't too bad either.

Matter of preference though, of course.

I find the most comfortable is regular belt holster with shirt out to cover/conceal - need to find a holster that keeps gun close to the body. I'm not a fan of oc - I don't need/want to advertise and feel cc is a much better option. I have a kholster too ( similar to crossbreed ) and they are comfortable - but I can not get use to any type of iwb holster. I agree with others that 357 is pretty potent for a self defense gun - especially out of a snub nose - a real pocket cannon. I would probably go with a S&W or the Ruger LCR. If you want an inexpensive option, I actually picked up a Taurus Poly Protector and it's very light, and very accurate. I don't carry it much, but think it's a decent piece and mine is 38 +P. Good luck!

I just bought a mint Smith model 19, cant wait to carry it when the holster comes in, i carry my Rossi 462 in the summertime, great little REvolver and accurate as heck.
I concur with the others that with the .357 mag you have to be mindful of over penetration, i'm thinking of going to frangibles with mine.
