Default Finally took my M&P to the range

So this morning I finally took my M&P to the range. Right away I liked it. Good grip, good grouping. Even firing as fast as I could I still got groups of three or four together. I am surprised how well this gun shoots. I think I shoot better with it than I do with my glocks haha. No problems at all. I should have taken more ammo though :-(. However it started to rain so I don't think I would have stayed longer.

I have the M&Pc, and I am very impressed with it. It has the apex trigger kit in it, which I highly recommend. IMO, it is a great gun. Good luck!

Which Apex kit do you have, what is the weight of the trigger now?

I'm very interested in installing one for my wife.

Nice, I learned how to shoot a pistol with my M&P 9. After 2000 rounds I can keep all my shots inside a paper plate at 7 and 15 yards. The last 1400 rounds have been Tula and she has eaten everything I fed her without a complaint. Only minor issue I had was the front dot falling out 400 rounds in. I replaced the stock sights with Trijicon Night Sights and haven't looked back. Except for a Tactical Light I plan on keeping this pistol stock as it's perfect the way it is IMO.

I have an APEX M&P COMPETITION ACTION ENHANCEMENT KIT in my IDPA pistol and it is between 2 and 3 pounds. That kit is strictly for competition only.

I imagine the the Duty/Carry kit would be just as smooth with the exception of a 5 pound trigger.

I bought an M&P 45 ACP this week and took it to the range this morning. I was dead on at 7 and 20 yards. I tried 200 LSWC and 200 LRNFP, mixed brass, 4.9 grains of WST. No problems with either load.

Does anyone know if the above load makes major in IDPA? I know I can back it off some and still shoot SSP, but I'd also like to shoot CDP too.

    Good luck with your M&P.

    From the IDPA Rulebook.

    IDPA Power Floor:
The goal is to compete with “service type” ammunition, not light
target ammunition. Therefore, the following minimum power
    floors will be in effect:
    SSP - 125,000
    ESP - 125,000
    CDP - 165,000
    ESR - 165,000
    SSR - 125,000

Calculate power floor by multiplying the bullet weight by the
muzzle velocity. You will need a chronograph to verify muzzle
    velocity.

    Thanks for the response.

I don't have a chronograph. I was hoping someone was using a load similar to mine and could tell me if it was achieving 825 fps or more. Excluding barrel differences and other factors, I would no if I am close or not in the park.
