First bear hunt
A friend and I are going on our first bear hunt in December, and I was thinking about which gun would be best to use.
I am leaning toward using a Mosin Nagant 91/30 I have done a lot of work to over the years.
It is very accurate.
No scope, but I am good to about 200 yards with this rifle in its current configuration (I have done accurizing work, installed a Huber Concepts trigger, a Smith Sights front sight, and a Mojo Click Sight for the rear sight).
I will most likely be shooting 203gr SP if I go this route, though I may go with 200gr Nosler AccuBond.
The question was more for my friend.
Would either a 20 or 12 gauge with a slug barrel be suitable for bear?
I assume that if the question to either is yes that sabot slugs would be the way to go.
Any guidence would be appreciatedLast edited by oblivionboyj; September 30th, 2012 at 02:57 PM.
