Default New jewel in the collection.

Been wanting one of theese for awhile. Finally got one. Model 1873 Springfield. Manufactured in 1880, all original and the bore is BRIGHT! Rifling is sharp. Cant wait to make up a load for this rifle. She wont be a safe queen, I plan to shoot this one in the military service rifle league at DCFS this year.

I paid $800, which I believe was a good deal due to the condition.

Not bad at all considering it's not a reproduction.

A friend of mine bought a collection of appx. 100 guns last week. Alot of them rare, I guess the old man was collecting these for a long time. He passed away and his son didnt want them, so he sold the collection to my friend for $22k. About 50 or so he kept, and the others he put up for sale to try to recoup some of the investment. He already had a trapdoor springfield so I got lucky and grabbed it before anyone else could. He ended up with alot of cool stuff, including a broomhandle mauser with capture papers. No, he wont sell it, already tried. Lol.
