Default Loooong Trigger pull on AK fix.

OK, was wondering something. I have a MAK 90 AK and the trigger pull is pretty nice. It is just really long till it engages. No trigger slap. I just have to pull it a long way till it goes bang.

Would changing the trigger grouping to a G1 or G2 shorten the trigger pull?

This trigger group is adjustable for Pretravel, Overtravel, Disconnector Engagement, and Trigger Pull. Depending on your preference and application, it can be adjusted for Single Stage or Two Stage pull.

    They are $85.

Tapco is not adjustable at all. Which means all the typical dynamics of an AK trigger are still in play. All that uptake will still be there. IME the trigger is so light though, you may not care how long it is. What I care about is the feel before the break. And the tapco is usually not different right up until it goes bang. There is no pronounced stack up before it lets off. If you are handy with a dremel and a file... you can turn a tapco into a more 2 stage feeling trigger by feeding the disconnector into the back of the hammer as you pull the trigger so the disconnector spring just starts to stack as it is about to let go. This will let you stage shots right at the very bleeding edge of where the trigger lets go, without "remembering" where in the long trigger pull that "is".

The Romanian PSL triggers are set up like this from the factory. So despite the long, and sometimes gritty shitty pull of the factory components. You can stage the trigger right up to the break and still get a relatively clean shot off.
