primers?
I know it is supposed to be a no-no but what is the difference between a small pistol primer and a small rifle primer?
Whit primers getting so scarce I am sure more than one nube like myself has thought "I am out of small pistol primers but have a full box of small rifle primers, why cant I use them if they are the same size"?
Thanks

Re: primers?
Rifle primers are generally harder to withstand higher pressures, tend to be "hotter" then the equivalent sized pistol primer, and with some manufacturers they are slightly taller too.
I recommend NOT using small rifle primers in place of small pistol primers. You'll likely get more miss fires, "light strikes", and possibly flatted heads if they are slightly taller than your primer pockets.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
