New girl from Wilkes-Barre

Hi...new to the thread and need some information. I hate to use the cliche`...but I am a "single white female" living in Wilkes-Barre, and I would like to purchase my first handgun for personal/home protection. Can someone steer me to a gunshop where someone will take the time to make sure I can get the right item for my needs. In addition are there any indoor gun ranges where I can get trained properly. If not, I have a brother and nephews who will take me under their wings! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Seriously, I believe there are a few members in your area so hopefully one or more of them will chime in and may even be able to give you some instruction. I personally have no experience in gunshops in your area. Welcome and good luck.

Advanced Arms in Pittston is a good one, my shop of choice is Piestrak's up on Alden Mountain Road just past Nanticoke. As far as indoor ranges, I don't know of any. The only places to shoot aside from gun clubs is up on Suscon Road in the Pittston area or up on 118 near Rickett's Glen. Good luck.

I also recommend Advanced Arms in Pittston, I live 50+ miles away and do the majority of my firearm purchases from them. They're good people.
