    I live in Freeland and would recommend two nice shops for you. Dave's Gunshop in Drums or Piestrak's in (near?) Nanticoke. Dave's helped my sister-in-law and wife that could be misinterpreted) pick out their guns and were very professional, and I saw a lady being helped in a similar manner at Piestrak's.

    Why would you want it to die?

    +1 for Advanced Arms. Also, try Gun Toters in Eynon.

If not, I have a brother and nephews who will take me unter their wings! Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
    Before going to a gun shop, please consider spending as much time at a firing range as you can afford. There's no substitute for experience. And you'll get a lot of suggestions to start small (as in .22) and work your way up with familiarity.

    Have fun, be safe.

    Know this: you aren't the first girl about to get a gun.

    Here's my youngest doing her Gunslinger Girl thing (video).

    I don't. I clicked on the wrong tab when I opened the link. I opened a thread with ladies posing with their harvest that barely gets any activity, but just enough to keep it alive.

    Piestraks in Alden outside naticoke would be a good place for you to start,they have a great selection, the best prices I have found in the area and a great family staff. The owners wife also works there, so ya may be better able to relate what your concerns and priority's. Here is the link to the site and directions;

    Welcome to the forum and kudos for taking an interest. All of the gunshops that have been mentioned are good. If you by chance do want the opinion of another female or you get the condescending "you're a girl and should start with a .22 revolver" crap, travel over to Hunter's Gallery at the intersection of Route 348 and 590 in Hamlin. There's usually a woman, I believe her name is Terri, that works the gun counter during the week. She's very helpful as are Jack and Rich. You pretty much can't go wrong at this place.

    If you will be looking for a pistol range to train on my favorite is the Archibald range off of the Casey Highway. It has easy access from a major highway and is about 30-45 minutes from Wilkes-Barre. It has a separate pistol range to shoot at aside from the rifle and shotgun range.

    I tend to go often if you want some basic tips or someone to shoot with some weekend. My wife goes sometimes as well.

    Also recommend Piestracs. There is a guy in Hunlocks creek that does some training. I do not remember his name. Ken, Rich or crystal at piestracs should be able too tell you his name.
    troll Free. It's all in your mind.
