They are blah, and the have absolutely no character, BUT You can't argue with the majority of the police departments using them with very little problems.. And they'll let anybody be a cop nowadays..

Never in a million years did I think I would own a plastic gun

I never shot one but I checked one out pretty well at my LGS one time. They're very nice guns. Great fit/finish. I'd certainly consider one for the Fritz Arsenal but I've got too many gotta-haves lined up ahead of it.

One of them being a Stoeger 2000 12ga semi.

.41 Magnum revolver. Crap-load of power, yet still easily-controlled (to me, at least).

My Smith & Wesson 15-3 ca. 1973 has gone bang every time I've pulled the trigger.

Of course unless the ammo is faulty. One nice thing is that if I do have faulty ammo(Primer does not ignite the powder in the cartridge) all I have to do is to pull the trigger again and the next round fires. No fussing with slides and mags to clear a misfire.

It's a bit of a trade-off though since I only have 6 rds. until I have to reload.

Gotta go with the 1911. There is a reason why it has not seen many changes in its 100+ years history. Not to mention 45acp ball is plentiful, reliable, and a proven manstopper with no needed expansion.

Also from the many training classes Ive attended or taught, Ive seen just as many revolvers fail as semi autos have. Most have been from the owner buying into the hype of never having to clean it, which leads to the cylnder binding up. But, Ive seen some scary looking conditions in autos as well.

Point being that most modern firearms will, with minor maintence, last a lot longer than you will.

Ruger Blackhawk hands down. Built like a tank, very few moving parts, can use 3 different types of ammo, 38, 38+p, and 357 mag. with a conversion cylinder it can also shoot 9mm. Verstile and Reliable.
