The only review info was from Slickguns (where I found the original link)

Re: $209 Smith Model 10's with shipping included
Some importers are lazy and use crappy techniques to mark the gun.
Blue Sky M1 Carbines come to mind where they stamped the barrels so hard that it smashed the barrel into a slight oval.
Import marks on a S&W sideplate could indicate a bent and damaged plate.
Add to this that when a gun is engraved by an importer, the finish is gone creating a place for rust and corrosion.
As for Applegate and his Mod 10's and 13's, were they in fact import marked? And if so were they early imports where the markings were under the barrel or even under the grips like many used to be before the ATF cracked down a few years back?
Or were they not even import marked and simply were S&W's with police markings from the foreign PD's?
So yes, more times than not an import mark is just cosmetic, but not always and not every potential buyer is made aware of it when buying something from the internet.

Re: $209 Smith Model 10's with shipping included
It came today.
Condition is much better than I expected it would be.
No import marks at all.
Not a new gun, but in really decent condition with good positive function.
I will post pictures ASAP.

Re: $209 Smith Model 10's with shipping included
I haven't had time for pictures.
I will tonight.
I shot it on Sunday, but I was mostly just screwing around.
It functioned well, but I did not take notes or save my targets to post.
I am going to the range in a little bit.
I will post a report and pictures later.
Sorry for the delay.
I have been balls out for the last few days.
