Deer sounds?

I was just outside to take my dog out to go potty before bed and I hear what sounds like cows mooing. I've only been at this house since the beginning of June but I have not heard this noise before tonight.

I don't know of any farms with cows that are close enough to hear, unless cow sounds can travel pretty far.

I know there is lots of woods and fields around me, so I was assuming it was deer.

My family hunts and is big into hunting and I've hunted deer before, but I can't say I've ever heard deer that sound like cows mooing.

Not Deer if the air was clear the sound of cattle will carry some distance. Deer make more of a snorting sound when startled, They blow air out their nose and then sniff the air trying too locate any danger.

Bleats or snorts but no mooing.

Bleats sound more like a sheep than a cow, to me at least.

well i heard it again this morning so i doubt its deer now. way too much mooing.

apparently a herd of cows has moved into the neighborhood, haha.

just weird that i've been here for almost 3.5 months and never heard it until last night.
