I remember when the op started this thread.

I would guess some gay gun owners point out they are gay because there is a stereotype that gay people do not like guns or the people who own them. In my personal life I would say it is not true. I know about the same percentage of gay gun owners as straight gun owners.

Before anyone asks I know a lot of gay people so my sample group is probably in line with the total population.

Thanks for the "don't ask don't tell" but I agree with mpan72.
It's the satisfaction one gets from announcing "I'm not the stereotype" rather than the sexual orientation because let's face it, I don't think the mainstream "gay" community accurately represents all kinds of gays. Anyway, this thread is putting me to sleep now.
