Re: Gay and in the NRA
When I finally decide on a new CC, flashy of course is gonna be the farthest from my mind.
I am new to pistols other than a .357, 686, etc. So this is my 1st time with a single action SA. Long guns and revolvers is what I was raised with and ranged with and have known since kindergarten. I blame my dad--he be old school.
The PT1911 "Cock and lock" of course makes me laugh in hysterics.Last edited by ArcticSplash; September 23rd, 2012 at 07:39 AM.

Re: Gay and in the NRA
I hate to say i dont know if being gay will ever fully be accepted. I have a friend of mine who is gay and i always bust his chops, he busts mine. I personally could care less who people do the naked dance with. Part of me thinks it is "not natural" because i am an agnostic. To me it just doesnt jive to do something that doesnt end in procreation and the continuing of your genes, which is why i believe is why all species are here(you may not believe that). But i defiantly know you cant control who you love. That shit has got me in trouble more than once! Im just glad to have another gun lover on our side!

Re: Gay and in the NRA
The left leverages certain liberties (ie gay rights) in order to promote their "freedom oriented" approach to harnessing more power, and the right leverages certain liberties (ie gun rights) in order to promote their "freedom oriented" approach to harnessing more power.
The left and the right are both dedicated to increasing the size and scope of government. They "support" whichever rights that the demographics tell them they need to support in order to further their position.
Folks are surprised that there are gay gun owners because that conflicts with the dynamics established by the 'big two' parties. The left suggests that if you support liberty, you must support gay rights, and if you don't, then you must be a crony capitalist. The right suggests that if you support liberty, you must support gun rights, and if you don't, then you must be a cooky socialist.
Wouldn't it be just dandy if there were a party that was only interested in supporting liberty and limited government?
The Libertarian Party is a far cry from perfect, but I will be supporting them in the next election because to do otherwise is to continue to support this nonsense where the right has reign over some liberty, and the left has reign over other liberty... The 'two parties' have become ridiculous, and there is an alternative. Perhaps liberty will lose this next election, but the war is far from over. The only way to let the left and the right know how you feel is to vote accordingly.
Your vote is your bullet in a world where politics is war by other means... Don't allow your muzzle to cover anything you are not prepared to destroy, and keep your finger off the trigger until you are prepared to engage your target.

Well said. Your cause is noble. Although, this may not be the best election to support a Libertarian candidate, since there is so much at stake and doing so would likely be an indirect vote for Obama. Perhaps those of us who feel as you do may want to go Republican this time and live to fight another day?

Thank you.

That combination is the exact recipe for tyranny on a scale never before imagined.
I will not vote for any individual that does not convince me that they recognize the need for strictly limited government. Perhaps my vote will help Obama, but I will vote for liberty at any cost. The consequences of a government as powerful as ours operating without limits are far more dire than anything Obama can do in the next four years. I really wish that the Republicans would have run someone that wants to limit the size and scope of government. But, as long as the democrats want to increase the size of government by leveraging some liberties, while the republicans want to increase the size of government by leveraging other liberties, things won't change.
