Default Buying a gun for my wife. Ideas, suggestions?

    Hi everyone,

I'm planning on buying my wife a concealed carry gun and need some ideas for a small and reliable pistol. Probably a 9mm or .380ACP. She already has an LTCF so we're good on that front.
My budget is around $350-$400. Any suggestions? Is the price realistic?

Can any women on here comment on comfortable holsters as well?

    Thank you.

Everyone probably has a different opinion...the best is probably to have her choose her own.

I have a Ruger LC9...but actually to carry on my person I do an LCP because its easier to conceal. But the LC9 is easier to shoot. I like both of them because they have a long trigger pull...takes a little practice to shoot...on the other hand, gives me the security that even carrying locked and loaded, they aren't going to "accidentally" go off or anything. The LCP is generally my CC weapon and then the LC9 is in my carry handbag, when I carry it, anyway.

Let her try out and find what she is comfortable with.
Here are a few pics of 2 different holsters.
I was showing a friends wife that you can easily conceal
and don't have to wear really baggy clothing.
The first holster is a Crossbreed Supertuck

Also with the Crossbreed holster, I just changed tops.

I dislike the diamond commercials, give me something useful like guns, ammo or cookware.

How's the reliability? I have a PF9 and before I had Kel-Tec gun smiths work on it, it used to malfunction all the time. Now it works great, but I would hate to buy something for my wife and have that be screwed up.

Suggest that she spend some time looking over Kathy Jackson's web site: www.corneredcat.com.

RECOMMEND GOING TO A RANGE THAT RENTS HANDGUNS,THAT WILL CERTAINLY NARROW IT DOWN AND MAKE THE ODDS OF BEING STUCK WITH A GUN BEFORE BUYING IT,GOOD LUCK.Sorry for the capitals, realized it too late.

Sig P238 or the new P938. I carry the 238 excellent little gun, accurate as hell, light but the trigger could use some help. Carry condition 1.

I haven't had any misfires in my LC9 except one, and it was my fault (won't even say what that was, but it wasn't the gun!). Its been smooth and accurate for me.

Oh and holsters...I also like the Crossbreed supertuck. For dress clothes, I like the SmartCarry.

The gun she should buy is one in a suitable caliber, from a reputable manufacture that she is comfortable with.

.380 and 9mm are suitable calibers, some may not think the .380 is suitable. But I believe the .380 you carry is better than the 9mm/.40/.45 that gets left at home.

In revolvers .38 or .357 are suitable.

If you have a shop that rents firearms that might be best as she can try a few out first.

Your going to give a woman a gun?? Are you out of your mind? Everyone knows they can't handle a gun and will probably just crumble at the idea of holding one. Just make her stay at home. Go to the store with her so she's safe, or just give her an hour to go shopping so you know when she should be back home. Their much happier when the man is in charge.

Hey, don't anyone show this to my wife or two daughters who have guns. Or the younger one who knows how to use one.
    When the SHTF......be the fan.
