9x18 Makarov FMJ vs. HP

I tend to believe in FMJ for smaller calibers, for penetration purposes. For defense, if I had only a .25 caliber, I'd want FMJ. That said, I'd like opinions on which would be superior for 9x18 Makarov. The round seems to be somewhere in between to me, as a 9x19 would over-penetrate, but a .380 would likely benefit from FMJ. So if feeding isn't an issue, which is best for defense?

I tend to agree. Limited availability has made the choices for me. It's a shame, really, because it's a decent round, and often sold out online and in the stores. Thanks for your input.
