Everyone talks about which handgun is better, grips, sights, mag capacity, knock down capability, etc. But the best hand gun for self defense is the one that you will carry all day, every day. It does not matter what features you hand gun has if it is not on you all the time because it is too heavy, or too big, or it bumps you in the side when you sit down. It all comes down to the smallest, lightest ,easiest to carry hand gun that will do the job.

Carrying shouldn't be comfortable, it should he comforting. According to your logic, we'd all be best served by a derringer.

There is a place for pocket .380s and 9mms, but larger guns with better sights and more capacity that are easier to shoot and shoot well are better in the end. Those features should be heavily weighed against the effort required to carry them, because when your life is on the line, you'll want every advantage you can get.

The smallest, easiest to carry gun is the bare minimum. Expending a little more effort might make the difference in a game where you can't afford to wish you'd carried something a little bigger.

Actually with modern ammo a .380 can exceed the performance of some of the most legendary legacy 9mm JHP loads of the 80s.

Fed 9BPLE 9mm+P+ Hi Shok JHP, the legendary ISP load: avg 10" penetration, avg .55" expansion

Buffalo Barnes .380+P SCHP: avg 11+" expansion avg. .65" expansion.

    Technology....it does not stand still.

I can clip my Crimson trace equipped LCP .380 to my waistband, it weighs under a pound loaded and is just .75" thick, and i rather suspect i could outshoot an awful lot of people with full sized service pistols with it.

    What do you guys think?

456 - In my h.o. you can't loose with either gun in your choice. Each one is a quailty gun. What you must do is find the one that suits you. But like I stated above either way between those 3 guns you win.

The new sigs have a polymer frame, and are much lighter. They're also quite inexpensive compared to the prices they used to go for when they were all German built.
The classic series sigs (P-220,P-229,P-226) do not have a polymer frame.

Those are the "classic" line, yes? Their "new" designs are polymer, yes?

What are we even arguing about here?
