Re: Chester County Courthouse - no gun policy for jury duty
This is a persistent myth which really needs to die. It's entirely consistent with "the correct wording of the law" to call a LTCF a "permit". State law uses the terms interchangeably:
18 Pa.C.S. § 6109: Licenses
...
(i) Revocation.--A license to carry firearms may be revoked by the issuing authority for good cause. A license to carry firearms shall be revoked by the issuing authority for any reason stated in subsection (e)(1) which occurs during the term of the permit.

You'll be fine. Like many others have said take your weapon to the courthouse and lock it up. If Philthy Co. courthouse has lockers that allow people to store there weapons no problem, Chester Co. should be fine.

.
Is that in the same building? If it is, it's my understanding that they could deny you from carrying on the property. Can anyone shed some light?

I was there this morning and checked my firearm without any problems. No one asked for my permit. I was CC.

Note the highlighted word. If you take it inside, then you're in a world of doo-doo. Court facilities are not detention facilities, although they may contain holding cells (which themselves would be detention facilities, but that wouldn't make all the real estate a detention facility).

Re: Chester County Courthouse - no gun policy for jury duty
Had two appearances there today. Checked in my firearm both times without incident. No one asked for my permit.

Re: Chester County Courthouse - no gun policy for jury duty
Just got back from the Chester County Sheriff's office today (12:30-1:30pm) to get a fingerprint card done for a VA carry license. Walked in far right door, made U-turn into room to the right, removed Sig, placed in empty locker with my knife, locked locker, took key, proceeded thru security. No individuals to deal with when securing your firearm there. Very smooth, no issues.
