Re: UTAH gun permit
Ahhh, not really ....
According to this http://handgunlaw.us/ map it's a wash, they both honor the same amount just a couple of differences in where.
Utah, with the class, costs more up front, but the renewals ($15) are much cheaper.
Utah new non res. $51, renewal $15
Arizona new non res $60, renewal $43

Utah in my opinion, especially if you plan on being in Ohio at all.....You can call Kyle Babbel, he's one of the guy's you can set up a Utah course with. Pm me if you want his phone number. He's from the New Castle area. I live in Beaver,Pa. right outside of Pittsburgh. He's the guy I got my class from.

Your right Utah is the way to go. You can't carry in Ohio with the AZ nonresident permit you can apply for both with the Utah class given by US Concealed Carry at myusconcealedcarry.com. If you want alot of information on concealed carry and state reciprocity check out

Re: UTAH gun permit
I have been up to the Pittsburgh area a few times to teach our Utah permit class....always a very enjoyable time.
I don't have anything scheduled there now, but if you find that you have a group of people (20+) interested, I'll be happy to look into coming up again.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes if there is a known preference for one of the instructors who has supported this forum or is otherwise good to members, etc., and this is not a personal endorsement, but, fwiw, I attended an Appleseed event at the Summit Township Sportsmans Club near Butler over the weekend, and they are hosting a Utah permit class on Monday, October 1. The club is easy to find and, depending on where you live, it is an easy drive from Pittsburgh. Here is the address for the club's website with information about the class: www.stsclub.org

Re: UTAH gun permit
I attended a Legal Heat class this past spring that counted for both Utah and Arizona. I've got both permits in my wallet now and consider it worthwhile.
