Colt and Remington to relocate??
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012...t-to-relocate/
"Two venerable American gun manufacturers — Remington and Colt — could head for the West their weapons helped win if New York and Connecticut force them to implement microstamping technology."
Get the name of every sponsoring politician - regardless if the bill passes or not - and let them know - at the polls - and up close and personal - just how wrong this legislation will be!

Re: Colt and Remington to relocate??
I hope they do move out of those states.
I'm sure we can find a place here in PA for either of them.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515

Re: Colt and Remington to relocate??
Where do I sign up for a job? My only concern is that Philly would probably give the biggest tax breaks and the last thing we want is good firearm manufacturers in that shit-hole of a city.

Re: Colt and Remington to relocate??
With a little bit of research you could convince your local governments that they're a suitable site for the companies to move to your local area.
Things to look for:
Buildings that are already empty and up for lease.
Building that has both manufacturing and ware house space.
Close to a highway
Building already in an industrial area
If you have something like that in your area, go to your township council and propose that they invite those companies to move in and create jobs. Politicians area always looking for ways to create jobs in their area.Rules are written in the stone,

Re: Colt and Remington to relocate??
Good idea on trying to get them into Pa. It is kind of ironic that they are still in NY anyway. Plus It would a great kick in the teeth to Bloomy and his buddies.

I'll sign a petition for them to move out of NY to PA. Having recently drove across PA I would guess there is many locations for these icons to relocate to.

Re: Colt and Remington to relocate??
+1. I'd love to buy a Colt or Remington firearm that was stamped "<insert town here>, PA".
While I agree with your statement, everything's relative. PA might not be great on the tax issue, but I have to believe it's far cheaper than NY, and the relocation costs to PA vs a southern state would likely be lower due to the shorter distance to travel and transport equipment, tooling, etc.
In addition, the only reason PA isn't generally manufacturing friendly is because of tax legislation that was passed decades ago when PA was a foundry powerhouse, and the government was able to take advantage of it. Call your legislators not to keep Colt and Remington in NY, but to pass legislation in PA that repeals the ancient tax code which has no relevance in a 21st century manufacturing environment, and then we can convince more companies than just Colt and Remy to re-open in PA."Political Correctness is just tyranny with manners"
