My first IWLA funshoot
Did it today with two friends.
Those guys did an outstanding job setting up a great shoot. We had a blast. We were nervous about what to expect, but they were excellent hosts.
They were not pushy and were willing to offer suggestions and answer any and all questions.
Good job, and thanks.
Much better than standing and just shooting paper circles.

That's the first one I have missed in a while. They are always great events. Steel challenge was the same but sadly this years may have been the last.

Re: My first IWLA funshoot
Why is that? I hadn't heard that SC may not be returning to IWLA. They have a substantial investment in the steel plates and stands.
I seem to recall a poll they put on their web page requesting to know what events people wanted York Pistol to have and Steel Challenge had quite a few interested people.
I hope that SC continues at IWLA. My buddies and I will be very disappointed.

All I know is during the discussion prior to the event they said it might be the last year at IW for the event. I belive it was Kirk who mentioned it. I hope I am wrong as is pretty fun. I'll ask Gary the next time I see him.

Re: My first IWLA funshoot
Hope that isn't the case. With so many clubs seeing a great increase in Steel Challenge (and Steel Challenge-like) shooters.......I would hope it continues (and increases).
Seems that 3-gun matches have taken the forefront.

Re: My first IWLA funshoot
The spirit of Steel Challenge, will continue at York. We have decided to drop affiliation with USPSA, and SCSA so that we may be a bit....ok a bunch more flexible. We will be hosting a 1 day Steel Challenge type of shoot, that can be shot just as in days of old, or with many a new twist.
Stay tuned to our blog www.yorkpistol.blogspot.com for info as it happens.
