    Default Colorado LTCF Reciprocracy

    Can someone please explain to me (or point me in the right direction) to explain the reciprocracy with Colorado (if any) that Pa has with them with regards to the LTCF.

    According to the attorney general page, there is none;

    http://www.attorneygeneral.gov/crime.aspx?id=184

    yet paopencarry that there is a reciprocracy agreement that is "Honors PA resident permit only. No non-resident".

    http://paopencarry.org/pa-open-carry-information

    Am I correct in thinking that the LTCF is reciprocal if you become a resident of Colorado and not just visiting?

    It means that Colorado will only honor PA LTCF's that are issued to PA residents. Colorado's laws only allow the recognition of resident licenses of the states in which they have agreements with.

    If you become a resident of a state other than PA and have a PA LTCF, Colorado will no-longer honer that individual license.

    Ok. So, given the fact the I am a PA resident and a holder of a LTCF, then CO honors that agreement and recognizes my LTCF can be used in place of a CO ccw, however, if I became a CO resident, it would become null and void in that state?

    Curious point. It seems in order to remain legal you will need to apply for a CO CCW once you transfer residency. I wouldn't leave anything to chance though and recommend contacting the responsible authorities in CO for an official determination.

    If you set up residency in CO your PA LTCF would not be valid in CO anymore. The license itself would still be valid, but not in CO(and a few other states that don't honor non-resident licenses).

    In the situation described above it would still be valid.

    But if you move from PA, it wont be valid in CO(or MI, FL, NH or ME).

    If you continue down the page you linked to above, PA reciprocity w/ CO is noted and explained as "Category 2" - Statutory Reciprocity: No formal written agreement with CO but there is reciprocity because CO has granted it to PA resident license holders.

    From CO's firearms reciprocity page (PA LTCF: YES, if a PA resident) http://www.colorado.gov/cs/Satellite.../1251622200175

    I highly suggest you research Colorado's carry laws, especially Denver/Denver Metro if you are going to the "CITY."

    Colorado is an Open Carry state. No LTCF is needed for OC or while OCing in a vehicle. A CCW is only needed while CCing. Please research and confirm what I say as It's been awhile since I researched Colorado law.
