Winchester white box 9mm duds

I had major issues within the last two years with WWB FN .380. Nose dives, failure to eject, and failure to fire.

Upon inspection of what was still in the box 25 maybe 30 rounds at least 20% suffered from severe setback.

I have a strict no WWB policy going back a decade and broke it because of the local availability of .380 and like always they disappointed.

I see no upside to this brand right now. It's always dirty, I can't remember a time where it wasn't problematic, and it's always priced higher then all other range ammo like federal, perfecta, and PPU. In a pinch or shortage you don't have much choice but we aren't seeing that yet.

These days for 9mm I usually shoot either Perfecta from Wally World or factory new rounds shipped from Freedom Munitions that I order when they run shipping specials.

I had issues with 2013 WWB in 9mm. Dud primers, bullet setback in case out of the box, etc.

Recently was shooting some 45 ACP WWB and the gun totally locked up. A lip of the case mouth folded back on itself jamming the case in the chamber. Gun was locked solid out of battery. Long story on how I got it out.

I shoot the NATO 124g 9mm no problems but I just don't buy the WWB stuff anymore when there is good quality stuff like Geco out there.

On a side note I have read several reviews and accounts of how horrible the fairly new Winchester Forged steel cases 9mm is. Nothing but jams and failure to fires in every box.

Never had a problem with WWB 9mm in any of my guns. I don't seek it out but have some left when it was the only thing available.

I've seen that and wondered what the big whoop is with it seeing how vendors are charging much more for it than quality brass ammo.

I guess if you like getting less for more it's the perfect ammo choice for you.

That purple on the case in the original post is sharpie marker for identifying your brass at a match. Probably from the jersy girl. They always leave you a little reminder.

Nope. These were rounds straight out of a new box of WWB from Walmart. I don't mark my brass. (I do collect it if allowed, but it's not allowed at GSSF matches.)

I used ammo from two different boxes, but both were bought new at Walmart and neither had had ammo added to it after purchase.
