Bought a gun in Virginia
If someone bought a gun at a Virginia gun show with no ID, would he be able to sell it in PA without any problems?
Meaning the gun is not really registered does this make it illiegal?

Re: Bought a gun in Virginia
In PA a HANDGUN must go through an FFL. It does not matter who it was "registered" to. The only potential hang-up is if it was reported as stolen. There are states that allow private-party sales of handguns with no documentation, just like PA allows private party sales of long-guns with no documentation. Just make sure you follow laws for interstate travel.

Re: Bought a gun in Virginia
I am certain it was not reported stolen... so If I wanted to sell the gun, I could go to a shop and put it on consignment... sounds good thanks

Were you a resident of Virginia when you bought it?

Re: Bought a gun in Virginia
Ok cool... ..that would have constituted residency to rule out any federal violations.
You can lawfully sell/consign the gun here in PA. PA doesn't have a registration, neither does the Federal govt or Virginia. Handguns must be transferred through a FFL or sheriff though so that the buyer has a background check performed on him/her. Long guns can be sold outright to other PA residents.
Any interstate sale would require a FFL. For handguns it must go through a FFL in the buyer's home state. Long guns can go through a FFL in any state.RIP: SFN, 1861, twoeggsup, Lambo, jamesjo, JayBell, 32 Magnum, Pro2A, mrwildroot, dregan, Frenchy, Fragger, ungawa, Mtn Jack, Grapeshot, R.W.J., PennsyPlinker, Statkowski, Deanimator, roland, aubie515
