Default Opinions on the Ruger 22/45 LITE

I am interested in buying this pistol but I want to hear some people's opinions on it before I do. I want this just as a plinker. I'll probably put some type of red dot sight on it and hopefully one day suppress it.

So what do yinz think about it?

Yeah I heard they are a pain in the ass to dissassemble and reassemble. Besides that, I don't hear too much bad stuff about them.

Awesome gun. Mine seems to spit lead or powder in my eyes, i guess a pair of glasses will fix that. Other than that, its a pretty nice gun. I would like to get an integral suppressor put on it.
You cant go wrong with one of those, just keep it lubed, and have fun.

Is this a common problem with other people's 22/45s?

I just ordered one of these for my mom, I'm really looking forward to shooting it. Anyone know if there is a major backlog of orders, just wondering how long it will take to come in.

Good guns. I have the 22/.45 bull and it works all the time.

Ruger has started shipping again, not everything, but a lot is coming out. I've been told (?) the .22 lines were the first to start because of the greater demand.

I have a 1000+ rounds through my 22/45 with no blowback, I can't even imagine how it's possible.

    I have an opinion......

...absolutely LOVE it. Instead of buying a 22/45 and eventually buying a TacSol upper, Ruger did the work for me. Doesn't seem to like some of the Winchester ammo, but is plenty accurate for a plinker.....

I agree with NEVER taking it apart, though. I have around 600 rounds through it and thought it needed a good cleaning. I fucked it up beyond being able to fire. Soooo, off to the gunsmith it goes (and I'll probably have to send it back to Ruger).

Is this just on the LITE version or are they all like that(dont take them apart as they are a PITA to get back together)? If so i think that one just came off my list or at least went to the bottom lol.
