I'm gonna agree with the general in thats its most likely the same story. I wiil also say that I agree with the homeowner. I don't want to see any range get shut down, but one bullet thru my ceiling is one too many. I don't know what I would do if a bullet came thru my house and hit my 2yr old daughter but you can bet there wold be blood and lots of it, raining down from the skies, particularly if someone did it because they were unfamiliar with the weapon they were using.

This is why familiarization is so important.

PS I mean absolutely no disrespect to Phillyshooter os his brother-in-law. I hope a lesson can be learned here from all this.

You probably wouldn't have purchased a home that's directly down range from shooting range, within 1300 yards, with just a small earthen berm between.

Your doggone right I would'nt have. But whatcha gonna do when you need a house and your in a tight spot and this one meets your needs, range or no range. I'm not gonna bust the dude for his choice of house. At least he's not calling to burn the place down or some other extreme over reaction.

Needing a house sort of precludes being in a really tight spot. Purchasing a house is something you usually do when you have enough disposable income and time to go through all the paperwork and other responsibilities of a homeowner.

If he really liked this house that much and knew about the range before hand, I'd have haggled with the seller to knock the price of the house down enough to attenuate for the expense of plating the range-facing side of the house with some thick steel siding.

For some reason and maybe its just me but you sound a little testy here. So I'm just gonna say that there are affordable houses out there, and by being in a tight spot I meant needing to buy for what ever reason. I'm not sure why you're so pissed, so I'm gonna back away slowly and try not to make any sudden moves.............................................

Not at all, it takes more than a civil discussion or even a heated disagreement for me to get ticked off in the least. The internet just happens to be very bad at conveying the tone of discourse.

Fair enough. LIke I said its 0330hrs and this is my 3rd night shift in a row, so my meter is likely a little sensitive. No hard feelings.
