    Default Bank OC

So my friend who works at a bank and saw an OC'er where he works. Guy came into the bank, next thing that happened was 3 squad cars responded.. Apparently some customers called the cops. They let the guy go, so it was a good encounter from what my friend told me.

The next day the man comes back, says that he only did that to see the branches stance on the practice, to which the manager asks if that is a smart thing to do(OC). The guy says it is unloaded, while reaching for the gun to pull it out and show it. I have no comment.

I will not disclose the name of the bank cause my friend does not want me to.

    Wait, hold up...

    So he:
    • OCed just to test what the bank would do.
    • Felt it was a good encounter when the police showed up for just OCing.
    • Unholstered to show his firearm was unloaded inside the bank.
    • OCed with an unloaded firearm.

    Did I get that right?

Next time you see your friend tell him to thank this guy for reinforcing some peoples' opinion that ordinary citizens are too stupid and irresponsible to carry firearms.

tell me about it. a few words tellin him to stop, and ask him what he thinks he is tryin to pull in a firm tone would be my reaction.

and yes ShaulWolf, you got got it, except that the cops did not ask further questions. just checked the situation and left, no "detaining" or i.d. check from what i was told.

Eh, I OC in my bank quite often. In fact, I was just in one of my local branches the other day for a good hour with a customer service rep. No police were involved, no babies were harmed, etc., etc.

    ... ... ......

Your friend is an idiot. As long as the cops came to just assess the situation and left without incident (no ID checks, detaining, etc) then that's probably a good encounter.

But OCing just to test things out is pretty dumb. I OC because it's more comfortable, I don't have to get new pants to fit an IWB holster and gun, my style of dress isn't conducive to CC, and it just suits me better. I'm all for OCing. But your friend just seemed to pull a douche move there.

OCing an unloaded firearm is just pointless. I don't think I need to say more on that beyond that.

Unholstering his firearm to display it... what the fuck. Seriously. Loaded or not, there is no reason his firearm should leave his holster unless it's to secure it someplace or if the situation required it to be used.
