Re: Silencer Gel - Wet Suppressors
I have a Gem-Tech SOS suppressor.
I used the grease they "recommended" and what they supplied with the SOS once.
Once.
Everything was a mess. I'm talking about the pistol's front sight white dot obliterated by black gunk. There was grease Everywhere on the pistol. The mess was so bad I dropped it off at a Fun Smith with an ultrasonic cleaner. My shooting glasses and my face was covered with black dots. I called it Black Measles.
After that I Always used water in the suppressor. I forget if it's longer lasting that grease, but it sure is cleaner and just as quiet.

Re: Silencer Gel - Wet Suppressors
Wetting your can helps "cool" the muzzle blast before it exits the suppresser. Thus resulting in slower expansion of the air imediately surrounding your gun which reduces the noise level. A few drops ow water or WD40 or Waterbased wire lube applied in the muzzle of the suppresser between shots is all you need. It makes a 60% reduction on my Sparrow 22LR
