    Default rra vs armalite

Iam considering either armalite's m-15a2 or rra's standard a2 (20" hbar) as my first AR. I can get the rra locally (jim's firearms in baton rouge) for 899$ and the armalite from bud'sgunshop.com for the same price. I'd appreciate any input that could help me with this decision, as I don't have much education about ARs.

I have both (the Armalite was my first) and I would be hard pressed to say one was better than the other.

Armalite not bad. But after many years of gunsmithing, particularly AR's, I can say for several reasons:...

    Go with the RRA

Karys turned me on to Legal Transfers in the "Rifle" forum which will save me about $130 on the RRA standard a2. That and the high regard everyone seems to have for Rock River make it the obvious choice. I'll find someone to do the transfer this week. Hopefully it will be in stock when I place the order and I'll be posting pics in the next couple of weeks.

+1 for Armalite. I bought mine back around 1997, and have several thousand rounds through it. It came with a heavy bbl, then I changed it out for a lightweight bbl. I've changed the stock furniture as well. Never a problem with the "stock" gun, or having it accept any of the changes I've made. If i were buying another one, I'd buy the Armalite again.

my first AR15 was an "Eagle Arms"...the company that in the early 90s rented the armalite name (yes, the current armalite is licensed name usage)
At that time, the EA-15 was thier flagship model, once the name was rented, the Eagle Arms model became thier secondary line.

I still have the one I bought in 1992...its held together great, and i registered it as my SBR in 97.

either or, but if you wanted a match accuracy gun, I'd go armalite, if you want an excellent acuracy and combat style AR15, I'd go RRA.
