Is there a Range near Colonial Park?
I have just moved to the Harrisburg area.
I live next to the Colonial Park Mall.
Would someone please give me the name of a range(s) near me, to fire my 9mm pistol.
Thank you.Last edited by BennyG; June 20th, 2012 at 09:45 AM.

Re: Is there a Range near Colonial Park?
Yes, HH&A is the closest for you but also the most expensive at $120/yr. However, they have the widest variety of ranges and a beautiful facility.
Other options within a 30 minute drive are:
Mechaniscburg Sportsman's Association
Palmyra Sportsman's Association
Carlisle Fish and Game
Enola Sportsman Club
West Shore Sportsmen (Lewisberry)
The average cost per yr for the above is $55/member or $80/family.
If you want a less expensive option you'll have to use the State Game Commission ranges that require the purchase of a hunting license or range permit.

The $120 at HH&A is for the first year. Renewals are $85. It has a 25-yard indoor pistol range (handguns up to .45 and rimfire rifles) in addition to the 25 and 50-yd outdoor pistol; 25, 50, and 100 yd rifle,; and plinking, PPC, and black powder ranges. There are also indoor and outdoor archery, and trap/skeet facilities. The club runs many programs throughout the year as well. Http://www.harrisburghunters.org.

Re: Is there a Range near Colonial Park?
Good point. Thanks for the clarification on the membership cost. I thought there was something different in the way first year costs were calculated. While it is still a bit higher than some of my local clubs you definitely get what you pay for. I have always thought HH&A had the best facility with the wider variety of ranges and many activities.

If you don't mind driving about 10 minutes. Middletown Anglers' & Hunters is cheap only 40 a year. They have bar and restaurant on site too, open til 2am.
