Rebarreling a Mauser- any help
I have a vz24 Mauser, the barrel is counterbored and I have a very nice replacement barrel I'd like to swap it with. Does anyone know (or who can do it) of any smith who is good and rough cost? I've never done it but I'd prefer someone with experience to help with this project. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Rebarreling a Mauser- any help
could get ugly. could be your new barrel does not headspace well (likely), so would need to be refaced by lathe to time correctly and re-cut the chamber with a finish reamer. do my own, nobody else i trust that i know of. most "gunsmiths" are amateur hacks...

Re: Rebarreling a Mauser- any help
I hear ya on that one. I've seen some pretty ugly stuff that is best left to hang on a wall but deemed safe by a "professional". Hopefully with time I can find someone who does this well and can quote me. I have the time ha.
