Default Dropped my gun off to have work done...

So I dropped off my Kimber to have new sights put on today. Been trying to get the time to get over to the shop and get this done now for a while. About a half mile down the road after I left the shop, I started to actually miss my gun. Yeah...I know it sounds weird, but it felt like I just dropped on a child for summer camp or something. I know that I will get the gun back in a relatively quick time, but for some reason it just feels strange not having it with me.

I never knew you could become so damned attached to an inanimate object. We all have our favorite guns in our collection and when you carry it almost everyday, it's like it becomes a piece of you. I have plenty of other guns to carry in the meantime while my favorite is in the shop, but it just doesn't feel the same.

    Does this make me strange?

I could see that. My weapons are at home or with me. At Quantico matches I checked in all my weapons and felt weird. Later when I found out it was not mandatory I kept them with me.

Nope, not strange. Just like the rest of us, that's all.

My family lives in NJ, so for a 600 mile trip I feel naked. All for the lousy 60 miles I have to travel in NJ.

    I feel your pain.

It doesn't make you strange, but it does make you silly-
You should have brought it up here.

I've had a set of night sights sitting under the foam of my hard case for about 2 years now. I haven't been in any hurry because it's my only carry piece at the moment and I feel naked without it, but the times I did try to get them put in I was told they didn't have the right tools at the places I went. Someday I'll get them put in lol.
